New Hampshire Golf:
A "Good Walk" Perfected

From the resort-owned to semiprivate
and public courses, New Hampshire
has more than 80 golf courses to choose from.

Golfers can find exceptional courses in virtually every corner of the state, from
lakeside to ocean, historic courses edged by mountains to newer links style
courses that follow the rugged natural contours of rolling woods and meadows.

New Hampshire's golf season has extended play in recent years from April
through November (shorter in the mountains), with some of the most breathtaking
views during fall foliage season (September and October).

Many courses are steeped in history: the legendary golf course architect Donald
Ross designed the Panorama Course at the BALSAMS Grand Resort Hotel; Carter,
Kingswood, Lake Sunapee and Manchester Country Clubs; Tory Pines Golf
Resort; and Wentworth By the Sea Country Club. He also designed revisions to
the Bethlehem Country Club and the Omni Mount Washington Hotel and Resort
Golf Course. Albert Zikorus designed the 9-hole course in Hale's Location.

The BALSAMS Grand Resort, Dixville Notch, NH

Called "One of America's best golf resorts" by Golf magazine, The Balsams is
justifiably proud of this 6,804-yard, par 72 Donald Ross mountainside gem. The
vistas are breathtaking and each shot is a challenge. A 9-hole Executive Course is
perfect for learning and sharpening the game. Practice range, putting greens,
lessons, equipment rentals and sales are all available.

Omni Mount Washington Hotel and Resort, Bretton Woods, NH

27 holes of golf in one of the most spectacular settings in the Northeast. The
18-hole Mount Washington course was completed in 1915 under the design of
Donald Ross and restored in 2007 by Brian Silva to the original plans. The historic
9-hole Mount Pleasant course was first opened in 1895 and restored in 1989 by
Cornish and Silva, with advice from world golfers Gene Sarazen and Ken Venturi.
A new clubhouse opened in 2003 with its own full-service restaurant and lounge
to complement the main hotel. The resort also offers an 18-hole putting green,
300+ yard driving range, lessons and overnight golf packages.

Hale's Location Golf Course, Hale's Location, NH

Golf Magazine called this 9-hole, par-36 course "one of the most unique and
singularly beautiful golf developments in the country." Located in one of New
Hampshire's historic unincorporated townships, Hale's Location, is tucked in the
shadow of Cathedral Ledge. The views, especially during foliage season in the
fall, make for memorable play. Open to the public this course is an ideal way to
fit a round of golf into a scenic tour. Enjoy dining and accommodations at the
adjacent White Mountain Hotel.

Atkinson Resort and Country Club, Atkinson, NH

Named #1 of the "Best New Hampshire Golf Courses" and a Best of Northeast
Golf readers' choice, this par-72, 18-hole championship golf course opened in 1996
and has since earned the reputation for excellence that will bring the NH Open to
Atkinson in July 2010. The Par 3, 9-hole course that opened in July 2009 earned
the "PGA Family Course" designation in its first year of operation. The
Willowcreek Golf Academy and family-friendly PGA professionals are
committed to the education and advancement of golfers of all skill levels and
abilities through golf lessons, access to dedicated practice areas and electronic
analysis and coaching tools. No other golf facility in New England offers such a
complete, state of the art, experience. This public country club also welcomes
visitors at 3 restaurants, 16 oversized Fieldstone Suites and extensive meeting and
banquet facilities.
