Notes from the Heart...Blow-Me-Down Farm Celebration...

In honor of 125 years of the Cornish Colony and the
transfer of Blow-Me-Down Farm to the Saint-Gaudens
National Historic Site, the public is invited to
a community event to be held at the Blow-Me-Down
Farm in Cornish, New Hampshire, Rte. 12-A across
from the entrance to Saint-Gaudens National Historic

The event will take place on July 11 from noon to 4:30 p.m. and will include music
provided by the Heritage Brass Ensemble, speakers, a Blow-Me-Down exhibit,
and ice cream and cookie venders. Bring your picnic and a blanket and spend the

Steamed soft shell clams or “steamers” are a New England tradition, especially in
the summer. Their appearance is certainly intimidating to the uninitiated, but the
taste of the sea they bring explains why so many natives laboriously rake clams.
