Notes from the Heart...

Peak Peeping up North

As I look out my window it is not quite yet peak leaf peeping season in
southwestern New Hampshire.  But up north the leaves are at their glorious
red-orange-golden peak.  If you've never been to the
Northeast Kingdom of
why not take a drive up there this weekend? The area has many ways
to take in the beauty of the foliage -- from your car in the many winding country
roads, to biking on the mountain trails, to walking on its many hiking trails or
even a kayak through its lakes (trees reflected on the water is quite spectacular).

October is jam-packed with activities in the region including a
Fall Foliage
a week-long event hosted by seven Northeast Kingdom towns. Enjoy the
local history, entertainment, photo ops, church suppers, crafts and tours in
Walden, Cabot, Plainfield, Peacham, Barnet Groton and St. Johnsbury.
Each has special historic and cultural background and the local volunteer hosts
are pleasant and informative. Plenty of places to stay only a few miles to each
town. For more info visit the
Northeast Kingdom website.  Happy peeping.
