Lost and Found

If you have ever wandered the boardwalk at
Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves in North
Woodstock NH you may have wondered what
lies beyond the well-travelled path.  Well, this
fall you can found out.

Beyond the boardwalk are more caves that have not been open to the public and
this fall, adventurous spelunkers can take a guided tour into some of these
caverns that will take between 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Crews at Lost River have spent much of the summer cleaning out debris from the
caverns, with names like Cave of Lost Souls and Tuts Tomb.

The tour takes you back to a place that is largely unchanged since Royal and
Lyman Jackman discovered the caves back in 1852.

The guided tours depart from Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves at 9:30 a.m.,
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, through the end of the season and
reservations are required. Group size is restricted to 8 to 10 people over age 10.
Tickets are $60, which includes the general admission to Lost River Gorge.
Headlamps will be provided and participants should be physically fit with
appropriate footwear and clothing and prepared to get dirty!

Reservations can be made by calling 603-745-8031 or find more information at

Lost River Gorge
.  Have fun exploring!  ~ Marcia
