The Heart of New England
Celebrating the unique character & culture of Maine ~ New Hampshire ~ Vermont

This Week's Stories:

Feature: Tandem Biking - A Bicycle Built for Two
If you have never tried riding a tandem bicycle you may be missing out. Tandem
cycling is one of those things you seem to either love or hate. Since it requires
two cyclists you have to be able to play well with others.

Recipe: Smoky Split Chicken on the Grill
Splitting the chicken is quick and easy, and its short cooking time makes this
preparation practical for weeknight dinner or for entertaining. Cooking over
wood charcoal and adding smoke gives it an intensity missing in oven roasted
chicken, and I believe the oil and herbs keep the breast moist, in addition to
adding flavor.

From our Archives: Natural Swimming Holes, New Hampshire
Man made pools are nice, but no trip to the Mt. Washington Valley is complete
without a refreshing dip in the area's natural ponds and waterfalls. When the heat
of the summer seems unbearable, escape to one of these many natural watering
holes and let the cool mountain stream rush over you. Here are some of the most
accessible and popular spots.
