Notes from the Heart...

This week's Calendar Pick cracks me up.  It's Howling Coyote Day in NH on May
3rd.  Well, not
all of New Hampshire will be howling (in case you think we're
really nuts up here!)....just at the Amoskeag Fishways, which will feature a live
coyote and howling contests.  Sounds like a lot of fun to be had for the $6 per
family admission price!  ~ Marcia

The Heart of New England
Celebrating the unique character & culture of Maine ~ New Hampshire ~ Vermont

This Week's Stories:

Feature: Springtime in Maine...All You Can Do
Spring in Maine is highlighted by the reawakening of nature -- birds, animals,
flowers, rivers and waterfalls. It's also a season full of "bests": Best time to spot a
moose, best rates on ocean view rooms, best time to sample nature's sweetener
fresh from a sugar shack, and best time to explore quaint villages without the
crowds.

Recipe:
Straccietella Soup
Stracciatella is so simple to make that no recipe is really needed once a cook is
familiar with its preparation. Its success depends upon a well made rich chicken
stock (some make it with meat stock), fresh eggs and well aged Parmesan cheese
mixed with fresh bread crumbs.

From our Archives: Green Mountain Getaway (Vermont)
I must admit that I tend to plan a vacation as if it’s some kind of endurance test:
How many historic sites, picturesque villages and breath-taking natural wonders
can one human being conquer in seven days?
