Notes from the Heart...
It's almost turkey day. I'm lucky that I don't have to cook a thing -- we go to
Central NY to my sister-in-law's house, who cooks up the spread. I just bring
my much-requested cheesecake. But if you're planning to have guests at your
house and need some help with how to cook that big bird and fixin's here are

I made the porcini monkfish tonight,it was outrageous ;-) It also suggested to
make this dish with potato pancakes but I could not find that on your site. Can
you help me? (Francine)

recipe! Indeed – it is nowhere to be found in the archives. Well, I’ve fixed all the broken

refers to the heavy traffic and chaos in the stores. Others contend it is the busiest

Lighting of the Nubble
York, Maine
York, Maine kicks off the holiday season with its
Annual Lighting of the Nubble. Festivities get
underway at 5:00 p.m. at Sohier Park with
entertainment including the York High School Chamber Singers. The event
includes traditional Christmas Melodies along with Kiddie Carols - something
for the whole family. The United Divers of New Hampshire will once again,
plan to raise the lighted tree from the ocean, there will be the ever-popular visit
from Santa who arrives by way of a York Beach Fire Dept. ladder truck and
have fun counting the seconds before the Lighthouse is lit and adorned in its
