Notes from the Heart...

I grew up in New York State, so Red Sox fever is not in my DNA.  Sure, I'm
rooting for them, but my dedication doesn't come close to Bufford's.

And...I also have good news for all you food/recipe lovers! -->
The first in a series of The Heart of New England e-cookbooks
is finished!  Main Meals: From the Mountains to the Sea is now
available for instant download at
Booklocker.com.  In the next
few months look for other e-cookbooks, including

Readers Write

Dear Heart,
"...My wife and are planning a visit to New England and I still
miss the four seasons.  I guess I still miss home.  In California
we have two seasons, Hot & Dry and Wet & Cold.  Autumn
here is very much lacking in color compared to Home
although city planners try to plant trees that have color in the fall."
(Reader from California)

Dear Heart,
"...I recently took a 9-day road trip to Maine with my father (age 88) and his wife
(age 79).  We visited Monhegan and Acadia.  Now my parents understand why I
go to Acadia every chance I get!"
(A reader from New York).

Thanks for your letters, folks!  Keep 'em coming :)  Send your "Dear Heart"

Suerae Stein -- Turn Photographs to Impressionistic Art
Suerae, owner of Suerae Stein Photo-Graphic Design, creates

tiles. Suerae works from her original photography or she can
create custom works of art with other’s photography.  Her
work is beautiful...and looks like impressionistic paintings.

Recipe: Moroccan Chicken
by Charlie Burke
We served the chicken with sautéed tiny eggplants and Israeli couscous which
were appropriate sides for a dish from this region. This is an easy recipe which
shows how a few different ingredients can transform ordinary chicken thighs
into a new cuisine and is great for either entertaining or providing a change for
your family.

What They're Saying about
The Heart of New
England....

"...(The Heart of New
England) feels like a little
Yankee Magazine, but
without the paper pages
and the costly ads. But The
Heart of New England has
something Yankee lost long
ago – innocence."

Worth Quoting
"New England has a harsh climate,
a barren soil, a rough and stormy coast,
and yet we love it, even with a love
passing that of dwellers in more favored
regions”
