Notes from the Heart...
Once in a while I'll read a blog about New England life that makes me laugh
out loud. This week's essay was one of them...it's taken from Wil Langford's
Blog; he's a Maine resident who has some funny observations about northern
New Englanders' relationship with the weather. Read his essay here:

Smoked Salmon Pasta (with tomatoes, basil & goat cheese)

Having the first of this year’s local tomatoes and with some
Maine smoked salmon in the refrigerator, I thought a pasta
combining them and our basil with some fresh goat cheese
would make a nice light dinner. Read on...

July 14, 2007
This is an annual a tour of beautiful gardens in New Hampshire's Lakes Region
held at the height of the flower season in mid-July; ticket price includes
luncheon. Gardens in the past have had such features as feng shui, Japanese,
with panoramic lakeside or mountain views or postage stamp sized backyards,
with highbred daylilies, sky-high bee balm, cascading petunias or ornamental
grasses. Benefits the many scholarships, charities and community projects of
