Notes from the Heart...

One of the things I love about living in northern New England are those days
when I glance at the front page of my newspaper and see an item about a moose
sighting in town (like this week). And then there's the picture:  a gangling
prehistoric looking creature ambling across someone's lawn.  This week, writer
Marilyn Weymouth Seguin talks about her fondness for these awkward
creatures, and her own sighting in a more appropriate environment -- in the
deep woods of Maine.  Click here for story:

"Thanks so much for the terrific job you do with your New England newsletter.
I've put on several extra pounds by benefiting from Charlie's
recipes and (last
week's) '
Cottage' article is typical of the appropriateness of the newsletter's
contents. Keep up the good work!"
~ Jack from South Carolina.

"I know I've written you to tell you this before but I wanted to again. The Heart
of New England keeps me sane in between my trips up there which are too
infrequent. My husband & I still have at least 7 years until retirement & I feel
like I could explode waiting! Thanks so much for putting this online, it really
helps my New England (Vermont) fix."
~ Michele

Thanks for your letters, folks!  Keep 'em coming :)  Send your comments to ~ Marcia

This Week's Recipe
Roasted Asparagus with Prosciutto
By Charlie Burke
In New Hampshire, we are in the middle of
the asparagus season, and our three beds are
keeping us and friends well supplied. We trade
fat spears of just cut asparagus for our
neighbors’ eggs and are reminded how
much better each are than the well traveled
supermarket offerings
. Read on...
