Notes from my back porch...
My husband and I got married almost 20 years ago in a traditional church
followed by a traditional catered affair in a restaurant/hall.  Well, if I had to do
it all over again I think I'd opt for a different kind of wedding...such as one on
the high seas!  If someone you know is planning a summer wedding you may
want to refer them to the story, below, about the most unusual kind of
wedding, one on a Maine windjammer.

Chinese Stir-Fry Chicken
By Charlie Burke
Chinese stir-fry can make healthy, flavor packed additions to our meal
schedule. In Asian diets, smaller portions of meat are served, usually amid
mixed vegetables quickly fried at high heat to preserve flavor and texture.

It's Ice Harvest Time at Muster Field Farm, New Hampshire
Muster Field Farm's Ice Harvest Day will be held on Sunday March 4, 2007
from 9 a.m. "'til the ice is in."  The public is invited to see this living agricultural
tradition.  Ice blocks are cut from nearby Kezar Lake, hauled up to the farm and
packed in sawdust in the farm's circa 1890 ice house. The ice is used to chill
vegetables in the farm stand throughout the summer and fall. You can also
come and skate on the lake, cross country ski or snowshoe on the farm's trails,
enjoy a wagon ride and visit the Ryder Corner Schoolhouse, where volunteers
will be serving homemade soup and hot drinks to drive away the chill.
Admission is free.  For more information visit
Muster Field Farm or call
603-927-4276.
