Hot Cocoa for Your Pantry
by Marcia Passos Duffy

makes 1 cup

When making hot cocoa, skip the pre-packaged mixes in your supermarket:
they’re laden with too much sugar and other ugly additives your body does not
need.

Here’s my own homemade mix that I keep on hand in my pantry to make
creamy hot cocoa in a
moment’s notice:

1 cup nonfat dry milk
3/4 cup light brown sugar
½ cup cocoa
FLAVORED VARIATIONS:
Add 2 teaspoons of one of these ingredients to the above
mix:
Ground cinnamon
or
Ground cloves
or
Ground allspice

Combine ingredients and mix well.  Store in airtight
container…no need to refrigerate.

To make the hot cocoa, whisk in 2 tablespoons of mixture into 1 cup  mug of
COLD milk (for easier solubility).  Microwave mug of milk/chocolate mixture
for 1 minute.  Add mini marshmallows if you’d like.
