Barbara Ford-Latty

A delightful 7-room eco-friendly Maine waterfront inn located on Boothbay
Harbor with lovely views of our charming village at the edge of the sea. Choose
from suites with private harbor front decks and patios or rooms with views of
the harbor in the nineteenth century Captain’s House. Stroll across the
footbridge into the village where you can take a cruise to lighthouses, watch
whales and find puffins, or launch your kayak from our harbor front and paddle
out to the islands on your own cruise.  Relax in the inn's recently renovated
guest living and dining rooms. Every morning you awake to a delicious 3-
course harbor breakfast before you start the day of hiking, biking, sailing or
antiquing. Open year round except for a short break from December 12 –
January 31.

Q&A with innkeeper, Barbara Ford-Latty

What is the history behind the Fiddler's Green Inn?

Captain Amasa Williams built the house around 1860. He and his wife lived on
a houseboat docked in front of the house until the house itself was completed.
Captain Williams ran the Squirrel Island ferry -- the Nellie G --as did his son
Charlie for many years. We have a photo album with some great pictures of
Capt. Amasa and his wife on the houseboat, son Charlie and the Nellie G herself
-- one of the first steamer ferries here in Maine.

What kind of shape was it in when you purchased it and what kind of
renovation work was required?

Fairly good shape--- I need a new furnace, and had to put in a seawall, so now
we get to work on interior renovations!

What is it like living at  the Fiddler's Green Inn?

This is a wonderful coastal community and a great state to live in!

What is your favorite spot or room at the Fiddler's Green Inn?

My favorite room is the lighthouse suite where you can see out over the harbor
and the deck is perfect for sunsets and daybreak!

What makes a stay at your inn unique?

We are right on the water-you can even launch your kayak from our front yard.
We are also eco-friendly and use all local ingredients in our breakfast dishes –
