Notes from my back porch...
Don't we all feel like this Santa right about now? Yes, I could take long
winter's nap today. In fact, its almost noon and I'm still in my PJs! We had a
wonderful Christmas celebrated here at home surrounded by dear friends
and neighbors. We ate, played our violins & guitars, sang, ate some more,
talked, ate even more! It was wonderful. However, if you feel anything like
we do the day after Christmas, the last thing you want to do is READ a
newsletter...so I have a visual treat for you instead. Click here to take a
photographic journey through The Heart of New England's seasons. Enjoy
and Merry Christmas (there are 12 days after all!)

Oven Roasted Beef Fillet
Holiday entertaining calls for special meals, and roasted whole fillet, or
tenderloin, of beef certainly fits that description. Although its cost
approaches luxury levels, there is virtually no waste, so four pounds will
easily serve ten. Roasted whole, it makes an impressive entrance into the
dining room and is easily sliced into serving portions and served with sauce
made from pan drippings. Preparation is fast and simple, making it ideal for

January 23, 2007 marks National Pie Day, according to the American Pie
Council. Because nothing tops a cold winter day like a warm piece of pie,
the Historic Inns of Rockland will celebrate pie throughout the weekends
before the big day, on January 14 and 21, 2007. Click here to learn more...
