Notes from my back porch...

How often does a weekend getaway live up to its expectations (particularly a
getaway right before Christmas)? For me, I was hoping I could roll a whole
bunch of things into a long weekend: get some shopping done, spend time
with my teenage daughter, stay in a really beautiful inn surrounded by
mountains...and, while I was at it, get into the Christmas spirit by trudging
through some freshly-fallen snow, listen to some nice Christmas music, eat
really good food, sample holiday cookies, wake up in  a room with an alpine
view, and tour magazine-quality decorated lodgings so I can get some ideas
for my own humble home.   Uh, setting the bar a little too high, you say?

introducing it uncooked. Once in the oven, the meat cooks slowly until it is
moist and falls from the bone.
